100 Jahre Bauhaus - ArchitektTour
BAUHAUS LEGACY AND SINGAPORE: FROM SIEDLUNG TO HDB
Bauhaus influence to architecture and housing in Singapore is very substantial but not very well known beyond academic discourse. This walking tour will lead the participants into the understanding of Bauhaus’ radical ideas and its influence on social agenda and urban transformation in Singapore by tracing the typological links and transformations from SIT Flat, Emergency Flat, and HDB Flat in Tiong Bahru area in two hours.
The tour will be in English and led by Dr Johannes Widodo who is Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore. Dr Widodo has a wealth of architectural, historical and cultural knowledge of Germany and Singapore and we are very happy to offer such a special top-quality tour which gives interesting insights for everyone from newcomers to Singapore but also people who live here for a very long time.
