Image result for deepavali singapore 2019Deepavali – the Festival of Lights, the most important festival for the Hindus. Come on this walk with our guide Charlotte to find out how the Hindus celebrated this very colourful holiday.

Indulge in all your senses as you walk through this fascinating Ethnic Area. Check out Serangoon Road and its back streets, where you will find a myriad of interesting shops, spices, textiles and garland makers etc. Learn about the history of the area and see the beautiful architecture of the colourful terrace houses. Hear about the Gods in the oldest Hindu temple in the area and witness how the devotees do their prayers. Get to taste delicious Indian snacks and ‘pulled’ tea. Always curious about how a Sari is tied? We will have a seamstress doing a 'live' demonstration!

You have the option of staying on for dinner at the oldest vegetarian restaurant in Little India.

Please dress modestly and put on comfortable shoes which are easy to slip on and off; don’t forget umbrellas and cameras!
